Trash the Dress

Behold, the final chapter of Georgina's wedding story: our fabulously fun trash-the-dress session at Martinique Beach just outside of Halifax. After enlightening her as to what exactly a trash-the-dress session was, she was all about getting in that gown and giving it one last hoorah.

The results? LOVE THEM!

 

 

 

On top of some fabulous shots, I also received news that the dress survived in all its original glory! I take this as a challenge, and we have agreed that some fall leaves might be just what's needed to finally do it in!

Where the Heart Is.

I've lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia for eight years now.

It's nice, I like it. I met my husband here, I have great friends here, I work and play here.

But it's not home.

"Home" is on Cape Breton Island.

I get a few trips to Cape Breton in every year. My favorite is always our family camping trip with my mom in the Highlands National Park. Despite my annnual return, I never cease to be awed by absolutely everything. And with good reason!

A gorgeous waterfall crashes into the ocean beside one of my favorite beaches: Black Brook.

Warren Lake NEVER fails to be absolutely stunning.

MaryAnn Falls is just a short drive from where we stay.

I absolutely adore the tiny fishing village of Neil's Harbour with it's beautiful lighthouse and extraordinary soft white sand beach.

 Sunrise Valley

Roads that wind up, down, and around mountains that climb right up out of the Atlantic will never get old for me.

And this year, we get to go back in October for Thanksgiving! Bring on the fall colors, I'm ready already!

Jillian & Mark

I shot Jillian and Mark's engagement the day after Amanda and Neal. They asked that I not post any shots other than this one because they're using them in a slide show at their wedding and want them to be a surprise! Fortunately, their wedding is now only a week and a half away, so, assuming I survive the bachelorette this weekend, you'll be seeing a lot more posts of these two soon enough!
