Jamie and Marie-Helene

For a while in our teens, Jamie and I were close. So much so that our families and the world around us were convinced we were dating, and we couldn't be bothered to tell them the difference. We'd hang out and watch movies, have a drink or two with friends, and I'd visit him when he was training for his pilot's license at CFB Shearwater. When we both moved to Halifax, he would leave his apartment door unlocked so I could go in while he was at work and play Zelda on his Nintendo64.

These days, he's still playing video games, but now with a whole new princess. On August 28th, in a quaint outdoor setting in Hubbards, Nova Scotia, he won the game when he married Marie-Helene.

I hadn't met Marie prior to the wedding. I was floored to discover that not only is she an absolute doll, she's the most perfect match I could ever have imagined for Jamie. Just watch:

Handmade arch by the groom himself:

...and a look of a princess rescued by her hero.

Levelled up!

And it's on to the next expansion.

Some people look familiar? That's because I shot Jamie's father's wedding in 2001, and his stepsister's in 2008. I love being part of this family's traditions!

Completely candid...

...and completely not. :)

She did this:

and I just took it all in. <3

Late afternoon light is so beautiful to play with!

EVERYTHING about this!!!

There was some lipstick...

 ... some sneakers....

...and some "OMG, STAY RIGHT THERE!" moments.

There was also the best jump catch of the bouquet I have ever had the joy of photographing.

Shenanigans!

 And more tender moments...

...all of which, if I'd had to, I'd have given my last one-up to witness. <3
