Drinking mimosas, of course.
But wait! Did you say... the "photographer'? Yup, that's right. I sat this one out. Well, I stood this one out. For the first time in my life, I got to be a bridesmaid. This did not, however, deter me completely.
There she is. Melissa Johnston of Melissa Johnston Photography, doing what it is she does best. Meanwhile, I'm spying from the doorway, camera in hand.
The wedding took place in a church back in the town of Pembroke. The hairstylist forgot to show up until two hours after she was supposed to arrive, the flowers were forgotten, but not actually forgotten, the bridesmaids and bride were late to arrive for the ceremony, but there was a wedding after all, and it was beautiful. Naturally, I have no pictures because that would have been a little awkward and all, but you can see Melissa's on her site here.
The reception afterward was held in a barn.
But not just any barn. This is Auberge Northfork in Chichester, Quebec.

Melissa posed these, and graciously did not whack me with a blunt object while I shot her subjects from different angles.
I watched for a few minutes, stole only a few shots, then headed back to the reception to investigate what was going on there. It turns out, this is what was going on there.
The meal was fantastic and everything ran smoothly. It was a spectacular evening, and despite my enthusiastic consumption of alcoholic beverages, I managed to capture some highlights. This one was shot with my "pocket" camera and because of that is crazy grainy when you look up close.
But I love it anyway.
Having survived another fantastic vacation, we drove back to the Ottawa airport the next day to bid farewell to Ontario: two peas in our little green pod. We were exhausted by the time we got back to Nova Scotia, and fortunately the next day was the Labour Day holiday because it took the extra time to recover before getting back to real life.... and I wouldn't have had any of it any other way.
