On July 21st, Grants Pass commenced its annual Back To The 50's celebration for the 25th year in a row. I took part as part of a flash mob, dressed in the style of the time and getting down with a group of about ten people to CC Rider. "There are going to be about 3000 people there," I was warned.
Sure enough!
It turns out, there was a lot of dancing, and we were far from the only ones dressed up!
The festivities included a live band called Sound Stage Revue. These folks can rock, and these women can belt out a tune like they were born to do it!
Their performance definitely made for more dancing...
and the light mood meant shenanigans for everyone!
There was also a car show onsite. I gleaned all kinds of photo ops from that!
And of course, what would a riverside festival be without a little American pride?
The evening was a huge success judging by the turnout and the way my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much. It wasn't the first time that I had to stop and pinch myself to remind myself that I wasn't dreaming: that this is real life in "the best river town in America".
