"...Calgary needs you"

On October 9, I was back in Calgary spending the day and evening running errands and getting life situated before the next adventure. I made the conscious decision to take my camera even though I was just doing some running around. Hey, you never know, right?

As it t turns out, I had no idea.

What a gorgeous day!
By evening, clouds had started to roll in. It was still toasty warm out, especially for October, but this sky worried me a bit. What do those clouds mean???

Strange, right?
So I texted a friend who knows a bit about the weather. "Don't worry about it," he said. "It's just cool clouds. Enjoy."

So I did.

As it got darker out, the sky only became more amazing. People were stopping in the middle of the streets to take pictures. I felt like I had walked into a superhero movie and I was pretty sure the dramatic appearance of the arch nemesis villain was imminent.

And I had almost not brought my camera!

By the time the sun had completely gone down, I had made it to the 14th St bridge. One last shot of the river...

...and I was good to go.

That is, until I turned around.
There was downtown Calgary, in all it's superhero movie glory.

Gotham?
Nope.
This time, Batman, it looks like Calgary needs you.
