We arrived home from California at midnight on November 26. Four hours later, alarms were buzzing all over the house: time to wake up! By 5:00 a.m. on November 27, five of us, as well as #RangerBob (pictured below), had piled into one truck and were on the road to Eugene, Oregon, home of Oregon University's Autzen Stadium.
The game was a big one; the rivalry between the Oregon Ducks vs. Oregon State Beavers dates back to the 1890's. My friend had bought tickets six months in advance, and now, here we were, in the wee hours of the morning, making our way north for the ultimate American Assimilation Session.
"But I don't really know anything about football."
"You don't need to. All you need to know is when the Ducks are on defense, you yell 'OOOOOO' as loud as you can."
"Well, how will I know when the Ducks are on defense?"
"Everyone is yelling 'OOOOOO'."

Alright. Good talk.
I didn't take my DSLR to the game. It's a good thing because with all my jumping around and yelling, my pocket camera fell onto the cement floor no less than 4 times and suffered some rather grievous injuries.
The Ducks came out on top with a final score of 52-42: their 8th straight Civil War victory. And America came out on top: one more football fan ready and willing to wear green and yell OOOOOO.
